We are excited to introduce the Festival of Windmills!
January and February 2026
About the festival
Quixote Hospitality’s logo depicts a knight on horseback, drawn from Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote. The character, known for tilting at windmills he believed were giants, embodies the courage to dream the impossible. Much like Quixote Hospitality, with its vision of transforming Sumter, South Carolina, into a destination. Each of the company’s businesses represents a windmill: a challenge to be faced with imagination, persistence, and heart.
Over the course of two months, the Festival of Windmills will showcase the very best of Quixote Hospitality, bringing together acclaimed chefs, winemakers, and local talent to create unforgettable dining experiences.
This time, instead of tilting at windmills, we’ll be dining at them!

Art contest
We invite artists to join us in celebrating the Festival of Windmills by capturing the imagination, persistence, and heart behind Quixote Hospitality’s vision of transforming Sumter into a place people want to visit and experience. The Festival of Windmills brings that vision to life, highlighting the people, places, and flavors that make Sumter a community worth discovering. The artwork should draw inspiration from our story, rooted in the dream of creating each restaurant as a windmill—a gathering place where people can come together to savor, connect, and be inspired.
